To Fashion Designers
In the summer of 2012 I saw two amazing shows about Fashion: Schiaparelli & Prada at the Met museum and Jean Paul Gaultier at the De Young. Both exhibitions manifested that the essence of Fashion are Continuity, Innovation, and Art. These 3 core forces was what I wanted to show in this work.

Alabaster is a beautiful stone. Here I used the technique of polishing and sandblasting. The contrast is interesting.

First work in Alabaster. I worked on this piece at the time when Yan was getting ready for his Talk, his doctoral thesis defense. The stress traveled across the country and the stone underwent lots of torture
